What is a Managed Care Plan (MCP)?

Children and their families who are enrolled in Healthy Start receive care through a Managed Care Plan (MCP).

The MCP provides health care services include:
  • "Well-child" checkups
  • Immunizations
  • Dental care and treatment
  • Vision care and eyeglasses
  • Hospitalization
  • Emergency care
  • Prescription medications
  • Pregnant women receive prenatal and postnatal services

There are two different Managed Care Plans to choose from. The customer has the choice of selecting which plan they want, based on their own priorities for selection of doctors, hospitals and convenient locations.
